Solastalgia - loss and return', the sixth in the series, re-emerged with the most multi-sensory presentation in exhibition’s history.
Having staked out the scarred landscape and shadow worlds between heartbreak and hope over 3 dedicated years, the artists in this exhibition offered audiences a life-line; a welcomed breathing space to grieve, revive, and dare to love again. It was received as both a call to action and to prayer, re-energising our capacities to be morally and compassionately present to the crisis unfolding around our warming planet.
Thank you to all participating artists and poets, Coral Street Art Space, Victor Harbor Council, Country Arts SA, Regional Arts Australia, and the many attendees, who kindly left expressions of gratitude.
"I want to express my gratitude to the exhibiting artists participating in ‘Solastalgia’ for the vision & courage to express the depth of grieving that precedes any reconciliation with the devastation that has come to pass!” Claudia
“Such a valuable response to what is happening tin our world. Not turning away from the devastation, but seeking and heightening the love and care that connects the living world so deeply.” Trish
“A well curated, thoughtful, multimodal exhibition that needs to be seen by a wider audience. Hopefully the exhibition will travel to other parts of South Australia (perhaps beyond).” Kathryn
